Singleton Scholarship

More than $5 million in four year college scholarships since 1952.

Singleton Scholarship

To honor their father, the children of Colonel Singleton established the M. E. Singleton Scholarship Trust in 1952. In 1996, The Shannon Elizabeth Singleton Memorial Scholarship was established in remembrance of the great-granddaughter of Colonel Singleton.

The purpose of the trust is to enable outstanding Ellis County high school seniors (and those living outside of Ellis County who reside in a community in which CNB of Texas has a branch banking facility) that may not be able to afford a college education, the opportunity to receive a higher education. The trust is administered by Citizens National Bank of Texas and has awarded more than 1100 scholarships totaling in excess of $5.5 million.

Students applying for the Singleton Scholarship are invited to complete the application electronically through www.singletonscholarship.org. The requests will be reviewed and some applicants will be invited for a personal interview with the Scholarship Committee. Scholarships are awarded shortly after the interviews and letters will be used to notify the applicants individually.
