Citizens National Bank of Texas is not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not contain sufficient available funds. Any discretionary payment by Citizens National Bank of Texas of an overdraft check (or items, such as ATM withdrawals or Debit Card transactions) does not obligate Citizens National Bank of Texas to pay any other overdraft check (or item), or to provide prior notice of its decision to refuse to pay such check (or item). Pursuant to Citizens National Bank of Texas’s commitment to always provide you with the best level of service, now and in the future, if your consumer account (primarily used for personal and household purposes) has been open for at least thirty (30) days, or if your commercial account has been open for at least thirty (30) days, and thereafter you maintain your account in good standing, which includes at least:

Citizens National Bank of Texas will have the discretion to pay overdrafts within the overdraft privilege limits, but payment by Citizens National Bank of Texas is a discretionary courtesy and not a right of the customer/member or an obligation of Citizens National Bank of Texas. This privilege for consumer checking accounts will generally be limited to a maximum of $500.00 overdraft (negative) balan ce for consumer checking accounts & $1,000.00 for business. Any and all fees and charges, including without limitation the non-sufficient funds fees (OD fees & NSF fees are $28 per item with no limit as to the number of fees we may charge) will be included as part of this maximum amount.
ATM, POS, and Non-recurring Check Card transactions will require you to Opt-In to allow transactions be authorized utilizing the overdraft limit available on your account. Outstanding authorized transactions (after hours) that have not yet posted will lower your end of day available balance and result in an overdraft event and cause fees to be accessed.
Payment order is important because it can affect the number of items overdrawn or returned unpaid and the amount of fees you may incur. Items are processed according to dollar amount within the following order for the day they are processed: FIRST-in-house transfers, payments, phone and online banking with the smallest items being processed first. SECOND -ATM, debit card transactions with the smallest items being processed first. THIRD- ACH transactions with the smallest amount being processed first. FOURTH- on us checks and debit transactions with the largest items processing first. FIFTH- Inclearing checks and similar items with the largest items processing first. Larger checks are usually mortgage, car or utility payments so CNB has always presented these checks first as a means to cover your essential payments. Since 1995, CNB has presented items for payment in this order.
The total of the discretionary overdraft privilege (negative) balance, including any and all fees and charges, including all non-sufficient funds/overdraft fees is due and payable upon demand, and Depositor and each Authorized Signatory will continue to be liable, jointly and severally, for all such amounts, as described in the Deposit Account Agreement and Disclosure with a maximum repayment period of 30 days.
Again, while Citizens National Bank of Texas will have the discretion to pay overdrafts on accounts in good standing (as described above), any such payment is a discretionary courtesy, and not a right of the customer or an obligation of Citizens National Bank of Texas in its sole and absolute discretion, can cease paying overdrafts at any time without prior notice of reason or cause.
Citizens National Bank of Texas will automatically provide this overdraft privilege to all qualified accounts on the 31st day, unless the customer chooses to Opt out. A customer can Opt out online by clicking here.
